Independent Travel Training (ITT) is a free service for young people with SEND who are eligible to transport provided by Lincolnshire County Council.
What does travel training involve?
The ITT programme is a practical, one-to-one service that teaches young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) the skills and confidence to travel independently using public transport or on foot. The programme aims to increase self-confidence, social inclusion, and independence by enabling individuals to travel to school, college, work, and other community activities on their own.
The training is tailored to a students’ needs and circumstances and can be ‘topped up’ to take account of changes in routes and needs.
