Lincolnshire County Council Partners with Citymapper
to bring you new all-in-one travel app

Lincolnshire County Council is pleased to announce a new partnership with Citymapper that makes the award-winning app the county’s official journey planner for public transport.
The collaboration brings together all public transport options in Lincolnshire – including the Callconnect on-demand bus service – into a single, easy-to-use app, and forms part of the Council’s broader ambition to modernise local transport and deliver a more connected, data-informed network for communities across the region.
One app for all journeys in Lincolnshire
The Citymapper app is now live across Lincolnshire and integrates all local buses, rail services, Callconnect on-demand buses, cycling and walking routes. Residents, commuters and visitors can benefit from intuitive features including real-time journey planning, live bus tracking, and up-to-date alerts on service changes and disruptions; helping them make smarter choices about how and when they travel.
A key feature of Citymapper is its integration with Callconnect, Lincolnshire’s Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service. Users can seamlessly plan journeys that include both fixed route and on-demand travel, opening new options for those in more rural areas of the county.
“The launch of Citymapper across Lincolnshire marks a significant step forward in how we connect people with places.” said Mike Reed, Head of Transport Services “By bringing together all modes of transport into one easy-to-use platform, passengers are given a clearer view of how the network fits together – empowering them to plan and complete journeys with greater confidence and ease. Citymapper’s proven reliability in other regions gives us confidence that this tool will enhance the way people travel across our county”.
Informing a smarter public transport network
In addition to the many benefits for passengers, Citymapper will provide the Council with anonymised insights on how people utilise transport across the region – enabling the Council to better understand passenger travel patterns, identify areas of latent demand for services, and plan future transport investment.
“Lincolnshire is focused on delivering a transport system that works for everyone,” said Sam Griffiths, Head of UK and Nordics at Via, who acquired Citymapper in 2023 and power the Callconnect on-demand bus service. “With this partnership, we’re not only giving people a brilliant tool to plan their journeys but also providing invaluable data to assist the Council in making informed decisions about how to serve communities across the county.”

Flower Bus Showcases Blooming Bus Services at the Lincolnshire Show

Visitors to the Lincolnshire Show this year were greeted by our striking flower bus, decorated with fresh flowers to symbolise how bus services across the county are continuing to grow and improve.
The display was designed to highlight the recent enhancements to local bus routes – showing how services across Lincolnshire are blooming with better timetables, new and extended routes, and more frequent services, all aimed at making public transport more convenient, reliable, and accessible for communities throughout the county.
Throughout the show, the LincsBus team welcomed members of the public to learn more about these exciting changes. Many took the opportunity to chat with the team, share their thoughts, and snap a memorable photo in front of the Flower Bus.
After the event, the flowers were donated to Lincolnshire County Council Adult Care. They will be dried and transformed into eco-friendly confetti by individuals from 11 Adult Care centres across the county. This initiative supports sustainability while also offering a creative and purposeful activity for those involved.
The Flower Bus offered a visually impactful and engaging way to connect with show visitors, highlight the improvements to local bus services, and support a wider sense of community and environmental responsibility.

Electronic bus boards have arrived in Lincolnshire

Digital bus information has arrived…
There are two types of boards have been fitted to bus stops across the county by Vix, who are overseeing both the installation and ongoing maintenance. With the first phase now complete, the Real Time system is up and running.
Lincolnshire’s real-time bus displays provide accurate arrival times for the next bus by utilizing data from trackers installed on the buses themselves.
Funded by the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) there will be a mixture of large TFT displays and battery-powered E-paper screens.
There are real-time display boards running at larger bus stations and smaller real-time displays are positioned at roadside bus stops across the county.
